Masters of the Wind is a museum-quality maritime art collection celebrating the pioneering yachts, captains, and historic racecourses that shaped the early history of the America's Cup.
Beginning with the legendary yacht America and her victory in the 1851 Hundred Guinea Cup around the Isle of Wight, this collection chronicles the remarkable sailing vessels that dominated international yacht racing during the nineteenth century. Each piece combines historic imagery, nautical cartography, and carefully researched historical information to create a unique tribute to the golden age of sail.
More Than Maritime Art
Every Masters of the Wind presentation is designed to preserve both the beauty and the history of these remarkable yachts.
Each image begins with authentic nineteenth-century artwork or photography sourced from public archives, including the Library of Congress. Every image is individually restored and delicately colorized to preserve its historic character while creating a presentation suitable for modern display.
Historic race charts are likewise restored from original nautical charts and period maps, allowing collectors to see the actual waters where these legendary contests unfolded.
